Karen Wang Diggs graduated from California Culinary Academy, and was a chef at Hong Kong's Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Now a certified nutritionist, she merges culinary skills with her knowledge of holistic nutrition to help people achieve optimal health through detoxification and weight loss workshops, therapeutic cooking classes, education and new product design. She lives in San Francisco.
About the Author
After graduating from the California Culinary Academy, Karen Wang Diggs got on a jet and flew off to Hong Kong where she worked as a chef for the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and also helped to open two eateries. After obtaining her certification as a Nutrition Consultant in 2006 from Bauman College, Karen began merging her innate culinary skills with her knowledge of holistic nutrition to help people achieve optimal health through detoxification and weight loss workshops, therapeutic cooking classes, and private nutrition consultations. She lives in San Francisco.

Karen Wang Diggs is a knowledgeable chef, nutritionist and fermentation expert. Happy Foods explains how to cook delicious and nourishing recipes that retain the maximum nutritional benefits. The nutritional information is an invaluable bonus. It is a wonderful resource and cookbook.

Wonderful book for anyone interested in food and how it effects your health

Awesome book! I found the book interesting, informative and fun to read. I am currently trying out many of the author's suggestions including eating fermented veggies with each meal, using more ginger and turmeric, consuming more protein, more vegetables and less carbs and, something which was huge for me personally, I was finally able to stop eating refined sugar. I especially enjoyed the savory vegetarian recipes (I don't eat meat but I do eat dairy, eggs). The case studies and references in the book were extremely helpful. It's a great book to read if you are interested in finding out more about nutrition and how what you eat effects your mood and health. I highly recommend this book!
