Burke's insights helped a great deal vis a vis the emotional aspect of this ...

As somebody who just went through a divorce, Mr. Burke's insights helped a great deal vis a vis the emotional aspect of this wrenching ordeal. He helped me understand that anger was a part of this process, and how to process it in a meaningful way without turning t into a weapon that would do more harm than good. I didn't have kids, so that part didn't really apply to me, but it is easy to see that Mr. Burke really cared bout how the kids were effected by the divorce process. I think that his kids will be ok thanks to the way Mr. Burke handled his divorce. For anyone, especially in the Midwest who has to go through this process, buy and read this book, it was helpful to me and will be helpful to you too.

This book is a Great Resource, it's Practicle & to the Point and Insightful!

Going thru a divorce & post divorce brings up all kinds of challenges & a very difficult transition for all involved, and for many more years to come! (Co-parenting, splitting time with the children, different homes, school work, sporting events, extracurricular activities, clothing, illnesses, holidays, graduations, college, marriages, future relationships, so much more, etc..)
With have gone thru a brutal divorce myself, this book is an excellent reminder that with children involved is to Please keep your children out of your divorce & your differences! Don't bash the other Parent to your children! You may not like all parenting skills of your ex and what they do in their personal life, changes and life is difficult, move on and make the best of it for you & your children! Love and encourage them and don't bring them into your mess! Remind them that this isn't their fault! They are innocent children, this is your mess not theirs! And you being the adults sometimes we need to agree to disagree, like it or not and easier said than done believe me on that one! and it is essential that you learn to Co-Parent effectively for the sakes of your children, otherwise your children will be forever altered in their own lives growing up and affects every aspect of their lives with school, friendships, actions, their future adulthood and their future relationships as well, etc..)
Also, knowing their is No "Pretty" divorce, Mr. Burke gives excellent advice with the legal aspect. Every State has different family laws with divorce. Divorces are very ugly and expensive, try to come to as many agreements as much as possible. Keep visits & calls & emails to a minimum with Attorney if possible. Write all questions down to maximize your communications & try to mediate!

A Positive Way To View Divorce...

Mr. Burke does a wonderful job explaining not only the process of divorce in an emotionally transitional sense, but adds light humor to describe the experience in a less frightening depiction. Having recently become divorced myself, I find this book enlightening and highly recommend it for newly divorced single dads.
