Cinderella was a big fat liar: Prince Charming isn't going to fall from the sky onto your lap ready to whisk you away on his pristine steed, and Cinderella isn't waiting around in a tiny cottage for you to stumble upon her one day and swoop her up. You can't expect it all to just happen for you. But this doesn't mean that fairy tales can't become real. I'm here to tell you they can. They are real, and you can make your life a fairy tale just by being your best you.
For the last twenty years I have been working as a psychic matchmaker. I have matched thousands of individuals with their soul mates and helped them to sustain lasting relationships. In my life, I have matched thousands of individuals from all walks of life with each other. It hasn't just been individuals who are in the earlier stages of life and are fresh to the dating scene; I have matched people who were married before, sometimes for thirty years, who lost their marriage partners through either death or divorce. I've matched not only men with women but also men with men and women with women. And I've helped people who are in all different stages of relationship with themselves. It doesn't matter if you're tall, short, male, female, plus size, or size zero―love is out there. It's just about making yourself ready for love. My work is to help you do that.
It doesn't matter what your past is like; you have to figure out your own desires and find strength and power within. You have to allow that to happen because it is part of your journey. But in order to do that you have to pull the weeds away from your heart and soul, and keep pulling. It doesn't matter how good you look―you have got to feel love from within. If you can create positive, vibrant energy within yourself, you will emit positive vibrations; your magnetic field will strengthen and grow. I have had a client for almost a year named Jill. She's a very attractive woman, but she didn't know it. She had no confidence in herself. As a result, she kept going out with the wrong guys because she thought she needed to be with someone who needed her. I discovered that Jill was even going so far as to change her hair color to the color preferred by the person she was dating! Instead of leading with her intuition, she was leading with her insecurity. It took a lot of work, a lot of time, and a lot of coaching before Jill was able to get sexy for herself.
She started by reminding herself of the following every night for four months: 'I am beautiful. I am love. I am light. I am whole.' She started to be able to love herself from the inside. Jill came out of her cocoon and blossomed into an incredible butterfly because of the work that she did. She was able to open herself up and discover what had been driving her to do the things she did in order to keep a man in her life. She stopped trying to be with a person who would love her hair and her body and started to learn to be in love with herself.
By using the mantras, getting rid of the layers of pain she carried, doing some deep soul work, and forgiving everyone who ever hurt her, Jill became stronger and more confident. Her eyes became brighter and her physical body changed―and this time not because she changed them with beauty products. Her features changed because she grew to respect and love herself. Through this work, Jill was able to find a connection with a man who loves her just as she is, and they are now married.
Just like Jill, you will need patience to change your situation. Finding yourself and your soul mate is like making a baby. You don't just get pregnant and then immediately have a child. It takes nine months to make a baby inside your body. The reality is that anything worth working on is worth waiting on. It may take nine months; it may take nine years. You have to put the energy out there and be patient.
Twenty-two years ago, I had two particular clients. One was a man who had lost his wife of thirty years whom he loved deeply. He was about seventy-two at the time, and he came in because he wanted to see where his life was going, so we began working together. I could see that he wanted to find love again, someone who would be his true partner. The other client was a woman of sixty-eight who had lost her husband of about thirty years. She too was looking for love. So I scheduled their appointments at the same time on the same day.
I had another client coming in before that, so these two people got to meet each other in the waiting room. When I finished with my first client, I came out and told them they should go on a date together and really meet each other. They asked me to go with them and even said they'd pay. So we all went together to a restaurant called Captain D's. I remember it was on a Wednesday and we had to go before 6:00 pm so they could get the senior discount. We ate and talked. Two years later they got married, and they were together until the day he died. On his deathbed, he told me that I had given him the best years of his life. After thirty years of marriage, he had finally found his soul mate and was at peace. You have to be ready to be patient.
So let me cut right to the chase: This book is not for the faint of heart. You either want to do the work of finding that connection or you don't―and this is real work. If you're not willing to put the energy into yourself, walk away right now. But if you are, buckle your seat belt for the ride of your life, because this book is all about you. That's right―finding your soul mate must mean finding yourself first and your soul mate second.
You can't just say, 'If only I could have this man or this woman, I'd be happy.' You just have to love you. Our lives are like trees: there are many branches, and some may fall off while others may grow. Life moves all on its own; it'll twist you left and right, up and down, north and south, east and west. The one truth we get is to find the center from within. If you can do that, the rest will come. Just remember that we are all going through a temporary human experience, and we aren't here for a long time, we're here for a good time!

and I liked what I read

I was very drawn to the book because of the title and description, and I liked what I read, but there were some parts I didn't quite buy into.
For instance, I'm just not sure about the rule of 3s. It may work, but I haven't tried it and from reading I'm not convinced. But to each their own.
Since Deborah Graham is a psychic, her advice would be very valuable and likely quite accurate in person or even over the phone, but it's incredibly difficult to replicate that in a book. So the book sticks to general advice, which is often common sense or advice other books give as well.
What sets this book apart is the spiritual cleansing (or Spiritual Enema, as she calls it). I found myself highlighting several passages and taking notes while reading, so I did find quite a bit of value from this book.
I'd recommend this for anyone who enjoys a laugh while reading and has an open mind when it comes to psychics and spiritual advice.

You don't have to be a psychic to figure this one out

For a book written by a psychic, this book was pleasantly readable, with concrete advice such as going out for coffee or ice cream on your first date, so you'll be in public which is safer, and you won't blow a ton of money, but nearly everyone likes coffee and/or ice cream. You don't have to be psychic to figure out whether your date likes coffee or ice cream better--just ask! An easy, surprisingly reasonable read.
