About the Author:
The closest I came to completing
a major in a subject
was 39 of a necessary 40 hours
of business administration.
I had amassed over double the amount
of undergraduate semester hours of study,
necessary for typical graduation
in many varied subjects.
I continued to change my major four times
due to changing interests in subject matter,
I would even take night classes
in anatomy and physiology
for the fun of it,
never taking tests,
still having to pay full price for the class.
How crazy is that,
as I reflect back to that move.
An interest in learning led to a bachelor degree
of interdisciplinary studies, with a minor in
Business Administration at MIU,
today MIU is called
Maharishi University of Management:
(MUM), Fairfield, Iowa.
I was in the first graduating class
of this newly formed school, (1973-1977).
I have continued the regular practice of
Transcendental Meditation
twice daily, since 1972.
I enjoyed teaching TM for a short period
of time and moved quickly into
graduate study and a health career.
I haven't really stayed in touch with the
TM organization for nearly 40 years.
I received a master's degree in
Health Education, University of Colorado, 1978.
To upgrade my resume, I enjoyed
post graduate volunteer work for six months at
UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles, Calif;
critique and evaluation of in-patient,
health education programs.
I worked as a health consultant for 5 years;
design and evaluation of
wellness programs in hospitals and clinics.
With new found passion,
I founded Ryan's Brush Inc. in 1984;
glorified house painting,
faux finish and artworks,
design and consult, in residential
and commercial environments.
I quit working America at age 58,
choosing to live within a relaxed culture
tucked in the wilds of nature.
Dorothy still loves Kansas,
but my body prefers tropical warmth.
I enjoy sharing my past art images
along with this book presentation.

I feel like I got a lot out of this book already

Extraordinary life experience is laid out in raw bits and pieces, as he is an artist. Humor weaves throughout his art and prose, building a fascinating story. If he has genius, his art sits in front, and it is expressed as poetry. His use of metaphors and analogy runs throughout most of his thought. This appears to be a large part, of his effort toward his life’s work of observation and personal clarity. According to his bio he has been practicing transcendental meditation for over 40 years. Although I do not practice this technique I am familiar with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s technique of meditation. The author seems to shy away from meditation talk and focuses on human perception and experience in daily life.
I feel like I got a lot out of this book already, having it only a short time. It’s a quick read, but may be explored for years. Ryan has a clear understanding of a lot of spiritual principals, that I can relate to. I love the way the book is put together. It is informative, and helpful, without being preachy, and is also playful and humorous in the process. A fun read. I do not come across many books of this nature. Poetic, smart, funny and profound, which are a nice combination of qualities. I recommend this one.

Dave Ryan's, CLARITY BEYOND GENIUS lets the mind diverge from reality, but at the same time contemplate it via both graphic and poetic imagery. Being a long-term TM meditator I was taken by Ryan's ability to put into pictures and words what we experience while transcending, while at the same time describing the effects of transcendence in everyday activity. The ideas describing these ordinary experiences are delivered in a most creative voice and are entertaining as well as highly thought-provoking. This book invites the reader to return to it often as a reference to furthering one's spiritual contemplation and aspirations. I highly recommend this book be added to any seeker's library.

mind blowing art
Zoom in and enlarge the artwork; the pour flow paintings are gorgeous and completely different than anything I have ever seen. The other art he calls crystalscape; really mind blowing images. No idea how those are created with popping colors. Very surreal. He puts a pic with most every story or verse. I skimmed the book in an hour, but need to go back and digest one verse, one pic. Not sure what points he’s making, I'm not a meditator. I was interested in what's beyond genius-his title. A cheap price for a lot of book!
