A great bargain for priceless ideas

Creativity and Problem Solving

We are all geniuses according to Brian Tracy, with the proper training we can all come up with new and exciting ideas to improve our companies and our lives. In his new small but very powerful and thought provoking book Tracy shows how we can put our minds to work thinking and coming up with new ideas.
In one chapter he writes about the seven sources of innovation and how these sources promote creative thinking: Here are a few examples to whet your appetite:
The Unexpected Event: When something happens a problem or an opportunity that makes us think that much harder, focusing on this new issue to overcome the challenge or take advantage of the opportunity. He demonstrates this by showing us how Peter Omidyar wanting to sell his large Pez candy dispenser collection realized that there was not good auction site he could go to son he created E-Bay.
Process Need: When you need to improve process or technology to overcome an industry challenge, like when Tom Monaghan wanted to know why pizzas could not be delivered in less than thirty minutes and found a unique process change to make it happen.
Demographic Changes: Think of all the news products that are being developed as the baby boomers enter retirement age. This is a perfect example of demographic changes.
Tracy encourages us via 21 short but pertinent chapters to use our minds to solve our problems.
What I like about this book is that you cannot but spend four or five minutes reading it and your mind starts to whir with new insights and ideas. The book is just crammed full of what I would call mind triggers designed to make you think and create. He spends time talking about “Mindstorming Method” how they should be run, how many people should participate and how long is long enough for these to be effective.
There are other chapters on

• Developing the qualities of genius
• Mind developing exercises
And many more. This a great bargain when you think of converting a mere ten bucks into priceless ideas.

This is one of the volumes in the Brian Tracy Success Library, all published by AMACOM. Tracy has already written one or more books of greater length and depth that examine these and other major business subjects. What he has now done with each of the volumes in the series is to condense with consummate skill the most valuable information, insights, and counsel within a 100-page format, in this instance the most valuable lessons he has learned about creative or innovative problem solving.

Briefly but substantially, Tracy covers essentials of that include The Root Sources of Creativity, Three Triggers to Creativity, Mind-Stimulating Exercises, Practice Lateral Thinking, Practice Zero-Based Thinking, The Value-Engineering Principle. He again em ploys a format that frames 21 key elements that can be involved in a process to produce creative or innovative solutions to especially serious problems or answers to especially challenging questions. Sometimes an entirely new solution or answer is needed. Other times, the best solution or answer may well be a refinement or development of a solution or answer that is no longer sufficient. More often than not, such a problem or question resembles a puzzle whose solution or answer can be revealed only by obtaining the right pieces and then assembling them in proper order.

Readers will appreciate Tracy's provision of an "Action Exercises" section at the conclusion of each chapter. I strongly recommend that a lined notebook be kept near at hand in which to record comments, questions, and page references as well as completion of the exercises. It also makes sense to highlight key passages in the book. Doing all this will facilitate, indeed expedite frequent review of material later.

Here in Dallas near the downtown area, we have a Farmer's Market area at which merchants offer slices of fresh fruit as samples of their wares. In that spirit, I now provide Peter Drucker's list of "The Seven Sources of Innovation" that racy discusses ion Chapter Eighteen:

1. The Unexpected Event "is often the breakthrough innovation that changes an entire industry."

2. Incongruity "is the reality of what is and what 'out' to be."

3. Process Need that, when developed or improved, "would allow you to serve your customers better, faster, cheaper, or more conveniently than your competitors."

4. Changes in industry structure such as "the introduction of the Apple iPhone in 2006 which purred Samsung into the market with its Android-based smartphones."

5. Demographic Changes such as "the population movement from high-tax, high-regulation states to low-tax, low-regulation states" such as Texas with no personal income tax and a business-favorable regulatory system.

6. Changes in Values and Perceptions such "a much greater emphasis on health foods and fitness today than there was in the last generation."

7. New Knowledge, "both scientific and nonscientific, creates new economic trends, opportunities, and even completely new industries."

I agree with Tracy that almost anyone can develop the skills to make decisions that are much more creative or innovation. In their classic book, Creative Confidence: Unleashing the Creative Potential Within Us All, Tom Kelley and David Kelley observe: "As brothers who have worked together for thirty years at the forefront of innovation, we have come to see [various] misconceptions as 'the creativity myth.' It is a myth that far too many people share. This book is about the opposite of that myth. It is about what we call 'creative confidence.' And at its foundation is the belief that we are [begin italics] all [end italics] creative...Creative confidence is a way of seeing that potential and your place in the world more clearly, unclouded by anxiety and doubt. We hope you'll join us on our quest to embrace creative confidence in our lives. Together, we can all make the world a better place."

This book is Brian Tracy's substantial contribution to an operational manual that explains HOW. Also, as is true of each of the other volumes in The Brian Tracy Success Library, the price at which Amazon now sells this volume ($9.95) is not a bargain; it's a steal.

I very much enjoyed reading this book as it has helped me understand what was holding me back from the success i knew i deserved.
ReDivine Yourself helped me give myself a new beginning in many aspects of life. I have learned how to make decisions that are postive and forward thinking, not to be scared of the risks involved and what may come, but to have an open positive projective mind. At first this looks like a children's book.
It could be. But it really isn't.
It connects words with a special meaning that the author reveals. It is definitely an adult book...and a book for teens...and yes - kids. Bold and Encourgaing

I’ll admit to having laughed at some of the parenthood myths that seem to be around, personally I don’t believe in any of those ‘myths’. Passion is a part of life. And also, again personally I agree with all of the advice here and I didn’t need much pointers. Although this book was a like a god-send for my cousin Tracy and needless to say (disapprovingly) she turned out to have been a believer of some of the myths.

“Passionate Kissing, FUN FACT: kissing can aid in reducing tooth decay because extra saliva keeps your mouth clean” – this one had me LOL

In my opinion I feel that, for all married couples, parents or not, who think the passion they had before is dwindling, reading this book may come as a shocker. This is a very good and supportive source for troubled marriages. Read chapter 5 and you’ll see why -- reasons why *** after kids can be even better!

Alisha makes you think realistically about the longevity of marriage and the problems that can occur when having kids. Yes your kids can make you forget about the passion in your marriage but Alisha has given certain aspects of keeping that flame alive.
Just applying a few of her tips is a good start and will help with a marriage.
The book is put in short steps and easy to follow format.

Keep your marriage alive while still having kids

This book did a fantastic job of showing you how to keep the fire burning in your marriage when you’re a parent. A lot of marriages suffer after they have kids because the focus shifts from you and your partner to your kids. But it really doesn’t have to be this way if you know and practice certain habits with your spouse. This book covers these habits and shows you ways to enhance your marriages sex life while having kids.

Actually, one thing this book taught me was that sex can and should be better after having kids. Studies are even showing it affects the upbringing of your child too (can you say, have sex together for the kids!)

Overall this was great little book that can benefit any couple with children.

The author suggests a sound foundation to ensure you are in a good place to attract authentic love. I liked that the chapters were short and always had a story to accompany the principles. At the end of the book, I found the 14 relationship myths helpful as well as the 15 relationship realities. Positive thinking!

I have always been the type of person who encourages affirmation and positive vibes. I got this book to help me reinforce that and learned so much about the value of positive thinking and of positive reinforcements. There are a lot of really good affirmation samples in this book and I am definitely looking forward to using them not just at home but also at work. There is so much negativity in the world nowadays that using a little positive thought here and there could very well be someone's saving grace!

Becoming a great speaker

During my school days I am really having hard time to go in front to make some reports or even during speech time. I got this stage fright. Even for how many times I was being blackmail by my instructor to drop me out of the class if I will not go in front still I prefer to be a dropout instead of pushing myself to go in front. No one encourage me, not even some good advice way back then.
I am really glad to find this book and downloaded it. Yes, a big congrats to me. I just found out that there are only few things just to make up your mind and go.
To every chapter I really find it very helpful. On Chapter 4 I have this issue before on how to look good in front and feel confident, well not now, as I read this, the only thing that come to my mind is to fight my fear and practice my speech.
I really would love to share and recommend this book to students, instructors, and etc. to those who would like to overcome stage fright.
Becoming a great speaker is not just out in a day though it takes courage and effort surely it will pay off everything.
This is a handy book and totally affordable, so I encourage everyone to grab a copy of it.

I love this coloring book. I enjoy adding color to abandoned places, they look so much different after. I have already ordered an additional copy for my daughter. My husband even completed a page. He was happy to try something more appealing to his taste. I added a few pictures of what we have "illuminated" so far.

The absolute crushing, devastating pain of a marriage broken sometimes feels like your life has ended. Hope for the future has evaporated. You are a failure. I know for me it certainly felt that way. Looking back ten years I feel my life would have been elevated if I had the opportunity to read Cynthia Claire’s, “From Divorce to Divine.” Claire takes the reader through the cathartic process of the dreams provided to her by society and illustrates one-by-one as each one falls apart. But all is not lost. In fact, by twists of fate, determined pursuits of information and knowledge and soul seeking, she finds a life she was meant to live. It is a life of happiness and rich in love we are all entitled to live if we just stop fearing failure and embrace our strengths. Claire shares her journey but also provides insight to the tools we can all use to help us define our own future. If you crave insight and tools to help crush fear, move toward a future you deserve and bring light and happiness into your life, this book is definitely worth the read.

Powerful book !! You will come away with you are not alone!!

This is a very inspiring book from a writer who shared with us her very raw life experience in a spiritual and empowering way to leave us that we have the strength within us to move forward all while making sure you need to listen when life gives you whispers in life "trust in yourself "

Even though Cynthia tells us about her life journey. It's not just for people going through divorce or a devastating break up. It offers some excellent techniques for letting go and believe in yourself and find your positive strengths inside of you. There are some hard hitting messages in the book and certain chapters had me in tears.

In the end, You will be able to see and yourself in a positive light and know what type of person you always want to be into your life not who or what someone else wants you to be. Being true to you. That's where happiness starts with you.

I have found the daily inspirational guide I need to overcome challenges in my life!

This book is inspiring! It is not just about getting through divorce but any adversity one may face in life. The courage the author took in sharing her personal pain so others could benefit is admirable. I love the idea of focusing on our strengths and what we do well versus most "self help" books which focus on what we don't do well. The author followed her heart, utilized her strengths and put herself first, something most women can't find the courage to do. Thank you Cynthia Clare for I now have a daily inspirational book to remind me that I can be DIVINE!
