This book is short, to the point and above all else, practical. It gives pointers on how to identify a goal, quantify a goal, and then operationalize a plan to achieve that goal. The book then gives many concrete examples of how this process works, which is tremendously helpful. I recommend this book to anyone searching for a way to reach their full potential!

Realistic, helpful and insightful

I found this book to very insightful and practical. For those wanting to do some real introspection this is a great read. I picked up some great tips and find them easy to maintain. Not your typical self help book, this is so much more. I look forward to more from this author.

Concise and Effective

A Conscious Effort is a concise book for people who want to set and achieve goals in their professional and personal life. Dr. Barbour wastes no time with long illustrations, but respects the reader’s time and goes straight to the meat of how to set goals and then helps to lay out a path to achievement. It is interactive cognitive journey that allowed me to find out what I REALLY want and why I want it. He recommends identifying your true motivations and in doing so you will be more likely to stay on track and do what it takes to succeed. I’ve used his journaling method over the past several weeks and I’ve found that I have more clarity in my thoughts, I feel more motivated, I procrastinate less, I’m less stressed, and I have made more time for what really matters to me. Highly recommend.
